Now that winter is here Now that winter is here we need to know how to take good care of our skin Dry skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema ichthyosis, tend to worsen during winter So, we have to know how to take good care of our skin so we can avoid any kind of dryness flaking and itching due to these conditions. https://worldgraphics20.com/2020/10/17/10-ancient-beauty-secrets-that-are-useful-even-today/
I am going to list out 6 six simple steps by which you can keep your skin smooth and supple during winter I know this sounds difficult but please try to avoid taking bath with very hot water during winter what happens with hot water is that it tends to strip the skin off its natural oil.
It tends to dry out your skin even more which can cause more flaking and more itching so refrain from using very hot water for bathing If you take bath with bucket water then you can add add 5-6 table spoons of oil either coconut oil or olive oil into the bucket of water and then bathe with that this will help in forming a coating on your skin and reduce the dryness.
If you take shower and you cannot refrain from using very hot water then make sure your showers last less than 2 mins. you have to take a quick shower do not stand under the shower for a long time in winter. I know it can be relaxing after a long day of work but that is something you should avoid during winter time actually if you have dry skin you need not use soap on a daily basis.
you can use soap only in your armpit area and your genital area and your feet. that is it. You don’t have to use soap on your arms, on your legs, abdomen you can use use only once or twice in a week that should be sufficient if the surface is dry nothing is going to stick to it.
So even if you just take a water bath, it is going to get rid of all the dirt on the surface of the skin it is when the skin is oily that dirt tends to stick to it. So if you have very dry skin there is no requirement for you to use soap on a daily basis.
you can maybe use soap once of twice a week. and even if you do have oily skin even if you do have oily skin, make sure you use a mild soap or a glycerine based soap to take a bath in winter.
Do not be very harsh while using your towel. Do to vigorously rub the towel on your skin that is only going to make your skin dry and irritate the skin just be very gentle with the towel. You just need to dab the excess water off.
you don’t have to really rub it off or tug into your skin in order to dry it after bath So make sure you are very gentle with your towel after bath apply a msozituroser right after taking a bath when the skin is still moist this is the best time to apply a moisturiser it will then seal the water layer on the skin and keep the skin hydrated for a long time rather than applying moisturiser after your skin dries out.
it is always better it is always better to use it when still moist. keep a bottle of moisturiser in the bathroom and as soon as you finish taking a bath when your skin is still wet apply a liberal amount of moisturiser on your entire body. this is the best way to moisturise. once the skin is completely dry, the moisturiser that you put on the surface of skin will not penetrate very deep.
How to take care of skin in winter 6 simple tips
If you apply it when it is still moist.. tends to seal the moisture and keep the moisturise intact and reduce the trans epidermal water loss. So, remember, to always moisturise your skin when it is still moist. also remember to moisturise your skin twice aa day. In winter, we tend to sleep with heater on this will really dry out your skin.
so after taking a bath in the morning, you should moisturiser your whole body also before going off to sleep you should moisturise your arms and legs and face and neck this is very important if you want to prevent drying of skin You want to layer up during winter you want to stay warm but remember that you must wear a layer of cotton clothing under your woollen clothes otherwise.
it is just going to irritate your skin and make your skin more itchy and dry and flaky especially if you have atopic dermatitis or any type of eczema or suffer from psoriasis you have to make sure that you have a non irritating layer of clothing under your woollen clothes.
even if you wear socks you have to make sure that the lining of the socks is made of pure cotton. so remember to wear a layer of cotton underneath your woollen clothes if you ant to prevent your skin from getting irritated. So remember , that you have to use a sunscreen regularly even during winter. People tend to feel that because it is cloudy outside because it is not very sunny in winter, that you can do without a sunscreen.
absolutely not clouds do not block the UV radiation and you have to apply sunscreen on a regular basis even during winter. so if you are using a gel sunscreen or a lotion formulation of sunscreen then you might want to shift to a cream formulation of sunscreen during winter.
cream formulation of sunscreen tends to be more hydrating tends to soothe dry skin. so make sure that you use a sunscreen even in winter that was a very short artical on simple tips that you can follow during winter to keep your skin smooth. 9 Tips To Deal With Dry Itchy Winter Skin
HI, Today, I’m going to give you nine tips on how to deal with itchy skin with dry skin during the winter time. Now, me personally I do suffer from this. it’s cold here and the weather changes when it gets cold, it gets really dry. That cold weather sucks the moisture right out in the air and I can tell you especially around, you know, my ankles, on my arms, I get a lot of itching.
And infact, sometimes I itch my legs so much that they started to bleed and it was something that I had to take seriously because I’ve got kids as well and they suffer from it,so it’s one thing to put it off if it’s you, but I think, you know, when you started thinking of others. And, with that I’ve learned quite a fewthings, so I’m going to be giving you guys a lot of details here.
Now, I’m not going to give you brands and the reason being is a lot of these changes, there’s a way too many of them, I’m going to list them on the — the basically the support article. So, go over to Real Men Real Style, check out the article, I’m going to have a listof brands that I recommend. Ones that I’ve tested, personally my wife has tested, ourfamily has tested so that you can go out there purchase these and test and experiment.
So, let’s go ahead and get into the nine tips. Tip number one is warm showers, nothot showers. So there’s a key difference. I don’t have the exact temperature breakout, but I would say try going with a little bit cooler of a shower. Now, my friend, Brettover at the Art of Manliness has talked about cold showers.
I’m not going to say you haveto do cold showers, but if you’re taking a hot shower, consider taking the temperature down because that hot water, it strips your body of the oil which do a great job of helping to moisturize your skin, so you don’t want to be taking incredibly hot long showers. The second part is one shower a day or keep that shower a bit shorter.
If you’re goingto be taking two showers and some of you guys go to the gym in the morning, then – or you go in the evening, so you’ve got to maybe shower after wards, but keep your shower shorter then. But ideally you want to only be having one shower a day and keeping ita little bit shorter during the winter time, maybe take what we call navy showers whichis getting in and out pretty darn quick.
So, tip number three is use gentle soaps. So, you want to be looking at the ingredients in the soaps, if they’ve got perfumes, ifthey’ve got – if they’re antibacterial, if they’ve got deodorants in them. You wantto be careful of those type of soaps. Now, I’m going to give you, again, I’m goingto link the soaps which I recommend which are very gentle very safe over in the article,so go check that out.
So, point number four is don’t usea wash cloth or a loofah, you know what I’m talking about those things that you – andto be honest this was a hard one for me, I really like using a wash cloth. I just fee lwhen I’m using it on my face or my body, I feel extra clean. Well, again, you’restripping off all those oils, you’re being a bit rough to the skin and that can lead especially during the winter time to a lot of itching and dry skin. What to use instead?Use your hands right there very simple and just use your hands to wash your body. http://beauty
So, point number five is only wash key areas with soap. So, a lot of times when we getin the shower, we like to – and you know who you are, you like to wash yourself fromhead to toe, soap everywhere and you probably even do it two times. Avoid doing that andmaybe once a week you can go head to toe, but on a daily shower focusing on the areas, the armpits, the crotch area, those areas are the ones that you want to focus in onusing soap on. And, you know, you don’t have to wash head to toe every time you gointo the shower.
Now, point number is make sure to put on amoisturizer or a lotion or a cream whatever it is that you’ve got that you’re usingafterwards, minutes within three minutes of getting out of the shower. And the reason being at this point your body is going to be most receptive to taking in that moisturizerand really getting in into the skin. Again, that’s within three minutes of getting out of the shower.
Some people I know eve apply it in the shower right before they even getout of the shower and fully dry off and that probably works as well. Number seven is experiment. Now, I just talked about moisturizers, but there is a big difference between moisturizers, lotions, ointments, and creams. Ideally, you want to be if you’resuffering from dry skin, you want something that if you were to turn it upside down, it’snot going to immediately fall out because water content and water is a big point bigpart of most of the moisturizers out there.
You want something that’s going to be alittle bit thicker and really is going to do a better job. Now, again, I’m going to list over at Real Men Real Style a complete list of moisturizers, creams, and ointments that I’ve used that I’ve tested that I think are pretty darngood. But, you know, if you want to add something down below in the comments I would love tohear from you guys.
But this is something that every man is different and you’re goingto have to experiment you’re going to have to try a few different ones out there and find what works for you. Number eight is go ahead and start using a humidifier. So, a lot of this happens out sideof the bathroom. Yes, you’re in the shower for, you know, you’re in the bathroom for fifteen, thirty minutes a day, but outside of that, you’re in your house a lot longer than that.
Consider using a humidifier multiple rooms in the house. Ideally in your house, you want to be at about 45% to 55% moisture. The last tip point number nine, drink a lotof water and I’m talking about a gallon a day. A lot of us just are dehydrated throughoutthe day, you need to be trying to drink at least eight glasses of water. I think that, you know, assuming that it adds up to about a gallon. Whatever three liters I guess ifyou’re over in – if you’re over in Europe. The point is gentlemen, start drinking more water.
From the inside out, you want your skin to be able to moisturize itself to beable to produce its natural oils. The only way it’s going to be able to do that isif you are drinking enough water. Okay. So, if you have some serious skin issuesand none of these tips help, go see your doctor. There are some serious skin issues out there and guys it is something that you should take seriously especially if you’re itching to a point where you’re actually bleeding, go get your self.
