Hello and welcome, In the mid range mobile market of Pakistan, you have plenty of options. And in this artical, we will look at two of these options, Which you will get in Rs.65-70,000 price range And we got a lot of requests to do a comparison between these two. So our today’s video is Oppo Reno 3 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy A71. https://worldgraphics20.com/2020/12/04/best-ios-14-2-1-is-out-new-features/
I think these comparison type of artical are more useful As opposed to stand alone reviews. Because you guys are never looking at one phone You are trying to decide from other than one phone. Later in the artical, I will also tell you, based on your usage scenario, Which phone might be the best for you.
Lets get into the comparison now, Keep reading! When Oppo Reno 3 was launched, its retail was given Rs 70,000/- But it is now reduced to Rs 65,000/- Where as, the retail price for Galaxy A71 is Rs 70,000/- But chances are when you will go to the market, You will get these phones in Rs 2,000/- to Rs 3,000/- less If we talk about variants, Then both phones come with 8GB RAM, But Galaxy A71 has 128GB storage Where as, Oppo Reno 3 Pro comes with 256GB built-in storage. https://worldgraphics20.com/2020/11/11/amd-ryzen-5-5600x-vs-intel-i5-10600k-best-6-core-gaming-beast/
But if we talk about built quality now, in Oppo Reno 3 Gorilla Glass 5 protection is given at the front Where as, the back and frame are made of plastic. The back has a glossy finish and this gradient colour. And I liked the phone’s handfeel as well. And if we talk about Galaxy A71, Then here Gorilla Glass 3 protection is given on front Where as back is of this shiny glastic material.
Which is flexible and durable like plastic But scratch resistance is like glass. The overall profile of the phone is slim. And I really liked this look of its back So, on the basis of build quality, if I have to pick a winner between the two Then it will be a tie I think. And the prime reason for that is You get Gorilla Glass 5 at the front of Reno 3 Pro Where as in Galaxy A71, Gorilla Glass 3 is given.
But that phone’s back is of glastic material, Which will resist scratches better where as, Reno 3 Pro’s back is of plastic Which will comparatively resist less scratches. But if we talk about looks, I liked the looks of Galaxy A71 more. But this is about preferance And maybe you would like Oppo Reno 3’s look more. You can decide this by yourself.
But I would like to mention here that Right now, in this price range, You will find Gorilla Glass 6 or 5 at the back in many phones. That thing is absent in these phones. Moving forwards lets talk about the displays of these phones, both phones have AMOLED Panels, and in-display finger print sensors.
In Oppo Reno 3 there is a 6.4 inches Super AMOLED Display, which has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 and pixel density is 405ppi The display is quite bright, And its maximum brightness is said to be around 800 nits. There is a pill shaped cutout at the top left of display.
Which contains this phone’s dual selfie cameras. And if we talk about Galaxy A71, then here, slightly bigger 6.7 inches Super AMOLED Infinity O Display is present. Which has the same resolution 1080 x 2400. But because of the bigger size, Pixel density is slightly lower of 393 ppi.
Where as the maximum brightness is of 515 nits. You get a hole punch cutout in this display as well. But there is a single selfie camera over here. And this cutout, instead of being on the side is given in the middle of the display. As I have mentioned earlier, in-display sensors are present in both the phones.
And if we talk about their speed, then Oppo Reno 3’s fingerprint sensor is more responsive Where as A71’s fingerprint sensor, Despite of being better than A70, Was feeling a little sluggish. It is difficult to choose a winner over here as well.
because both displays have their Pros and cons. The size of Galaxy A71 is bigger, which I prefer a lot. Where as the fingerprint sensor in Reno 3 Pro works faster. Therefore you have to base it on your preferance as well If you ask me, then I liked the display of Galaxy A71 a little more.
because its hole punch cutout is centralized, which seems more symmetrical to me. Along with that, the size of the display is bigger as well. But again, I will call it a tie between these two phones. Now lets talk about the internals and performance of these two.
In Oppo Reno 3 Pro, you get a MediaTek Helio P95 chipset which is based on a 12nm architeture. Along with a Power VR GPU. On the other hand, in Galaxy A71 You get a Snapdragon 730 processor which is based on a 8 nm architecture. And Adreno 618 GPU is given in this phone.
You get full dual SIM support in both phones, meaning a dedicated SD card slot. And you can insert two SIMs and a Micro SD card, simultaneously. And both of the phones come wit USB Type C port. If we begin the comparison with the Bench mark results of these phones. So, first lets talk about Geekbench 4 results.
Here, the single core score for Reno 3 Pro’s processor is around 2000. Where as multi-core score is around 6000. Where as in Samsung Galaxy A71, which has a strong chipset like Snapdragon 730 its scores are quite more. You will notice the same thing in Antutu scores as well. Where Reno 3 Pro’s score is less than A71. Specially because of its GPU.
If we consider, on the basis of benchmarks, then A71 wins. But if we talk about daily usage, then both of these phones are very capable. All your daily usage apps will work easily in Reno 3 as well, All your social media apps, WhatsApp, Facebook all other things like that will work easily. And if we talk about gaming, then PUBG will work on high settings in both the phones.
I played PUBG in Reno 3 too, it was running on high settings over there as well. It will obviously work on high settings in Galaxy A71, Snapdragon 730 is a very powerful chipset, according to this price range. And if I have to choose a winner on the basis of their performance, then I will pick Galaxy A71, indeed. Its Snapdragon 730 chipset is more powerful, its Adreno 618 GPU is also more powerful.
Oppo Reno 3 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy A71 – Which Is Best?
And along with that, this configuration will work more efficiently that MediaTek configuration. It will consume lesser battery. So this will give you a better performance, overall. Moving forwards, we will talk about their battery size, battery life and charging speeds.
A 4,025 mAh batttery is given in Oppo Reno 3, and this phone comes along with Oppo’s own proprietary VOOC charging. which will charge this phone on 30W. And Oppo claims, that this phone’s 50% battery charges in 20 min. And I tested this as well, your phone will get half charged in 25 to 30 min.
Which is an excellent speed to me. On the other hand, if you talk about Galaxy A71, a 4,500 mAh battery is given over here. And this phone comes with Samsung Super fast charging. which will charge the phone on 25W. Here too, you will get 50% battery in 30 minutes. And to full charge the battery it will take 1.5 almost hours.
Hence, in Reno 3 Pro you get a smaller battery but slightly more fast charging. Where as, on the other hand, in Galaxy A71, you get a big battery and a slightly less fast charging. But if I have to choose a winner, then I will indeed select it on the basis of battery life. Because Galaxy A71’s battery life seemed a lot better to me.
There are two reasons for that, one that its battery is bigger, of 4,500 mAh, and second, its Snapdragon 730 processor, is a more power efficient type of processor. Therefore, this phone will last longer. If we talk about interface of these phones, There is Samsung’s own OneUI 2.0 in Galaxy A71. Oppo Reno 3 Pro has Oppo’s own ColourOS.
To pick a winner here is about your own preferance as well. But I found OneUI to be better. Because Samsung has refined it a lot with time. And it gives you the experience that you get in Samsung’s Flagship devices. But as I have told you before, it is about preferance. And Reno 3’s interface is good for daily usage as well.
And its layout is similar to Apple’s iPhone to some extent. Where you get all your icons on your home screen. Moving forwards, we will talk about a big selling point of these two phones. And that is their cameras. There is a Quad camera setup at the back of Oppo Reno 3 Pro which has a 48MP Wide Angle Main Camera. Along with it, there is a 13MP Telephoto Camera.
8MP Ultra Wide Camera, and a 2MP Black & White Mono Lens. And you get some special features with this phone as well. Like 5x Hybrid Zoom, Ultra Night Mode And 3cm Macro Photography. If we talk about Selfie Cameras, then there is a dual selfie camera setup at the front of Reno 3 Pro which has a 44MP Wide Angle lense of f/2.4 aperture and a 2MP Depth Sensor, for blurred background and portrait features.
On the other hand, if we talk about the camera setup of Galaxy A71, then you get a Quad camera setup on the back, here as well. And this Phone’s Main Camera, is also a 64MP Wide Angle Camera Along with a 12MP Ultra Wide Camera, 5 MP Macro Camera and a 5MP Depth Sensor. Where as on the front side, there is a 32MP Selfie Shooter of f/2.2 Aperture.
Back cameras of both the phones support maximum 4K at 30 frames per second Video Recording Resolution But you get Electronic Image Stabilization up till 1080p only. If we compare the images of Galaxy A71 and Reno Pro 3 side by side then you can see, that there results are quite similar The colour reproduction was accurate for both the cameras and their Dynamic range was solid as well.
Samsung cameras usually lead in this price range. Because they have the edge of R&D of Samsung’s Flagship phones. Samsung’s current mid range phone cameras are equivalent to last year’s flagship devices. And in my opinion, the images of Galaxy A71 are overall better than Reno 3 Pro But with Reno 3 Pro camera, you get the edge of Telephoto lens, Hybrid zoom and taking 108 MP Pictures.
If we talk about Selfies, there is not much difference in the quality of 32MP or 64MP, And here, I liked the quality of both phone’s selfies. And lastly, if we talk about video quality, here as well, you can see in the side by side comparison, that the video quality of both phones is similar. Now lets talk about, which one is overall better between these two cameras? So here, it is a tie situation as well, according to me.
I am sorry there are a lot of ties in this artical. But on one side, you have Galaxy A71, in which there is a 64 MP camera, but I found its images to be overall better. But on the other hand, you have Oppo Reno 3 Pro, in which you are getting more better features.
Having both Ultra wide camera and a Telephoto camera, is a ‘Wow Factor’ of this phone to some extent. And you usually don’t get these features in this price range. This feels like a Flagship kind of setup. Which one would you pick, here too, you would have to decide by yourself.
I would suggest you that if your decision limits on camera, then watch an in-depth camera analysis of both the phones then you would know which one would be better for you. Moving forwards, lets talk about some usage scenarios, and see, on the basis of your usage, which phone should you use, according to me.
If your decision is based on price, and you just want a lower price. then the price of Oppo Reno 3 is lesser. If you want a gaming phone, then I think Galaxy A71 is a better option. due to its Snapdragon 730 chipset. If you want a phone for Video Content Consumption, then I will prefer Galaxy A31 over here as well, because of its bigger screen.
If your priority is a good camera, then here, both the phones have great cameras. If you are a power user, then I will prefer Galaxy A71 here too. Because its battery is bigger, its processor is more powerful and its screen is big as well.
If you want premium looks and material, the build of both phones is similar, and look, decide for yourself, which one do you like? If you want a phone for casual gaming and video content consumption, both then there both these phones are great. If you want a phone power efficiency and battery life, then Galaxy A71 wins over there.
If we move towards a better interface, then there as well, Galaxy A71 has a better interface according to me But again, it is about preferance. And if you want a phone for ‘Wow Factor’, then here, Reno 3 Pro, because of its Hybrid Zoom and other camera features, wins the game.
Lastly, if we talk about which one do I prefer between the two? then based on my usage, I have chosen Galaxy A71. because of its big screen, big battery and more powerful processor. And according to me, overall, that phone is a little better. But Again, Reno 3 Pro has many strengths as well, which might fit better on your usage scenario.
